Derrick Washington

Derrick Washington is the Vice President of Sales for Master Fleet, a full service maintenance provider with three service centers in Northeast Wisconsin and one in Fort Worth, Texas which provide all tractor and trailer maintenance services.  Master Fleet provides fleet maintenance, nationwide breakdown service (Fleet Roadside Assistance); outsourced/contract maintenance (Commercial Fleet Management); cost benchmarking and best practices (Maintenance Benchmark Assessment), training maintenance leaders (Maintenance Leadership Academy), a maintenance and tire program for Owner Operators; and a Tire program for small fleets.  Master Fleet was awarded the 2015 Excellence in Business Award by the Green Bay Area Chamber and in 2016 was recognized as the TMW – Maintenance System Innovator of the Year. Master Fleet’s focus is helping fleets “Make Maintenance Your Competitive Advantage.”

 

Derrick has been involved in the transportation industry for the last 18 years in various levels of management and responsibility. Derrick began his career in customer service at Schneider National.  In this role, Derrick began learning the industry while providing solutions for customers looking to move freight via Dry Van and Refrigerated movements out of the MidWest.

 

After working in customer service, Derrick knew he had a passion for providing solutions.  He also understood that in order to provide the best solutions, he would need to learn more about the industry.  Derrick then spent time in roles within Planning and Dispatch, Operations, New Business Development, Asset Management, Global Sales and Brokerage. 

 

After 15 years of working as part of a large carrier, Derrick decided to learn more about the equipment side of industry by joining Stoughton Trailers, based out of Stoughton, WI.  Derrick joined the team learning about all aspects of trailer design, specifications and production while being responsible for dry van sales in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.  Derrick then moved into the Director of Sales role leading the direct sales team and continuing the path of growth and expansion. 

    

Derrick has been part of the Master Fleet team, supporting sales growth for both Master Fleet and Master Fleet National in their efforts for great customer service, solutions for Owner Operators through the largest fleets in North America and the goal to truly “Make Maintenance Your Competitive Advantage”.
